One thing leads to another
Last days for Osito
While doing my mini photo session at Especially for Pets in Sudbury, one of my clients was talking about the donkey that she takes care of. I had never photographed a donkey before and was really interested to find out more. I decided to go out to her farm where she lives to see Abner, the Donkey and take some photos. This lead me to find out that she also has her horse at the barn. Her horse, Osito has been part of her life for over 20 years but has come to the end. His knee was giving out and the pain that he’s been going through was really hard on him. With all of her options difficult, it was time to let him go. Anything that might help him deal with the knee would have been traumatic and painful for Osito.
I knew that I really had to get some beautiful photos of Osito. She was losing him and needed a good memory to have forever. I decided to take as many good photos as I could, both in the barn and out in the field. I didn’t want to put too much strain on his knee so we didn’t go too far.
Below are some of my favorite photos from the day. I could tell that Osito was given a great life and I was honored to take these final photos. It always amazes me what saying yes to one thing, leads me down a path where I get to be in a position to do something good for someone.
