Spring is here and plans have been brewing for a while. I’m not going to do as many events this year in hopes of getting some better connections with local companies. Last year, I did mini-sessions with Pawsh Dog Boutique in Boston and I hope to do more of that this year.
On April 26, from 10am – 1pm I’ll be setting up my tent in Newton MA at the 3rd Annual Canine walk @ Family Fair to support The Carroll Center for the blind. They contacted me last month and asked me to be involved. Most places that ask for donations or want me to join are only concerned about their own needs and really don’t care who signs up. The Carroll Center has been great. We worked out a special promotion that will both help them as well as help my small business. It is looking like a great event that will be a lot of fun. I’ll be there signing up new clients and for everyone who signs up, The Carroll Center will get part of the proceeds. What better way to get this spring started.
The next event I’ll be in Weston MA on May 16 for the Pooch Parade. This is a newer event that I’ve never been to before. My friend at Cody Creations recommended I look into it and they have been really great so I’m going to give them a shot this year.
Many of the other events that are run by shelters have been fading away or changing around. Baypath use to do a dog walk every year and it was fun but they decided to do a auction this year and it raised way more money and I was happy to just donate to that instead of bake in the sun for the walk.
I hope to see you either at these events or some time as the weather gets better. If you know a pet business that wants to collaborate to do mini-photo sessions, please let me know. I’d love to talk. Otherwise, feel free to contact me for your session. This summer will fill up quickly because I only do a limited number of shoots.
