I’ve had this website since 1995 and have been growing the site, then my business every year. When I first started, it was in the days when you had to write most of your own code and I really wasn’t into that. Then Dreamweaver came out and offered a visual way to build your websites. I got to a level of ability but again, it really wasn’t my passion, so it never really went anywhere. Then blogging and social media became the popular thing that designing my own page stopped making sense. I’ve been using wordpress templates that I purchased for the past few years and it has made a huge improvement over the look and usability of my site.
When it comes to my client work, I’ve been using a site called SmugMug for the past few years. It was an affordable solution to get into selling work online and creating spaces for my clients and that was okay. They’ve made some major improvements over the past 2 years and it looks much better but It still separate from my main site which isn’t ideal for me. They have also raised their rates to be more in line with some other providers so I’m going to try switching to Photoshelter as my main provider. They are NOT the least expensive option but they do offer some tools and resources that I think will help me grow as a business and better supply options for my clients.
I’m hoping that these changes can bring my whole site together to make it easier for you, my followers to find me and see all that I offer. I still want to be blogging and keep sharing the latest and greatest that is going. They have a 30 day free trial so for the next 30 days, I’m going to try it out and make sure this will work for my needs. This will be the biggest change for me because will move all my current client work over and try to make the move as seamless as possible. I’m a little nervous but I have time to make it work.
I’ll keep blogging and letting people know about the changes as they come. Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
